Healthy Families, Strong Schools

Fighting for healthy families and strong schools

After decades of engaging with state government and leaders, I see an important place in the Wyoming Senate for my voice. It’s a voice for the families and businesses of my district, for access to affordable healthcare, for strong support of K-12 public schools and for free, fair and secure elections.

I was moved to run now when I heard the incumbent for Senate District 8 would not be running again. I have spent more than half my life right here in the northern half of the district. I understand this district, the heart of Cheyenne. I look forward to talking to the people and businesses of the southern half of the district. I hope to hear about their issues and to explain my desire for public service on their behalf.

Once elected, I will connect with my constituents and stay connected, not just at election time, to hear their ideas and answer questions. In the Senate, I will speak with a local voice on state-level proposals.

Why Marguerite?

I support Marguerite because she is a problem solver and woman of action, she genuinely listens to citizens, and she leads by example. Those qualities make her perfect for the job!

Kathryn Valido, past president of WEA

Marguerite Herman supports early childhood intervention and education, specifically STRIDE Learning Center. Marguerite knows education starts at birth and includes family engagement for children to be successful through school to graduation. She has my unwavering support.  Wyoming needs committed, intelligent people to serve as senators in the Wyoming State Legislature.  We need people of integrity to put the needs of Wyoming citizens before national politics.

I support Marguerite because she is knowledgeable about the legislative process and the important issues and challenges that state legislators will have to resolve.  She has extraordinary listening and analytical skills and is very hardworking.  She has lived in Cheyenne over 40 years and has made our community a better place in which to live.

I support Marguerite because she always stays thoroughly informed about Wyoming’s many complex issues. During my years in state government, she was a persistent and welcome citizen voice in the halls of the Legislature, and I don’t believe anyone is better prepared to tackle Wyoming’s challenges than she is. The Legislature needs independent and fair-minded thinkers like her who will listen to all sides of an issue before taking a stance. We need her kind of devotion and commitment in the state legislature.

I fully endorse Marguerite in her run for Senate District 8!  I believe she has the intelligence, common sense, grit, and commitment to represent her constituency.  Even more, I believe she will be a bridge builder and seek to achieve consensus for the common good.  She has a voice of determination along with her voice reason, which has earned the respect of many, including myself.

"I support Marguerite for SD8.  I first met Marguerite when I attended LCSD1 Board of Trustees meetings.  She was on the Board and always a willing listener and supporter of education.  I got to know her better when she joined HOPE, Hispanic Organization for Progress and Education.  I have seen firsthand her passion for education and for a better community.  She is also a member of the music ministry at St. Mary's Cathedral.  Marguerite Herman would be that voice for the citizens in SD8.
